Panos Cosmatos執導的《狂屠絕路》（Mandy）是一部讓觀眾不停感到意外的古怪電影，集合懸疑、恐怖、暴力、愛情、宗教等元素，由影帝Nicolas Cage飾演為愛妻報仇大開殺戒的男子，今次他的失控演出令人眼前一亮，曾幾何時他主演的文藝片與動作片都能叫好叫座，近年沉寂了也選不了好戲，想不到他在這齣低成本製作中「大放異彩」，演得又悲憤又深情。
故事沒有甚麼道理可言，影片的有趣之處是氣氛陰暗，血腥程度越演越烈，挑戰觀眾的耐性，而且像吃了迷幻藥一樣由心情平靜到逐漸進入奇異境界，然後這一切又與反派角色的邪教背景十分吻合。
如果有定力集中精神看到結局，便會發現整部電影的奇怪安排都耐人尋味。當然，大多數追求正常「劇情」的觀眾可能看到中途已經會放棄。
